Service North

Service North is the world’s only SIAM dedicated conference and it’s always a highlight in Syamic’s year.

Syamic’s very beginnings can be traced back to the first conference in 2017.  Since then, our success can be demonstrated by our deepening connection to, and sponsorship of, this event.

2017 – Pat and Ian attend the first Service North event in Leeds as participants

2018 – Having just launched Syamic, we build our network and announce our arrival

2019 – Syamic sponsors the event for the first time. We are also invited to become contributing authors to the SIAM Professional Body of Knowledge

2021 – We are delighted to continue to sponsor the conference, supporting its transition to a new virtual format and co-hosting the pre-conference workshop

Service North will continue to play an important role in Syamic’s goals of developing relationships with other like-minded SIAM professionals around the world. We look forward to taking part in future ServiceNorth events and to continue our collaboration with Scopism, who always do a great job of running this event.

Service North 2021

ServiceNorth 2021 was a very different experience to previous years, as we all had to embrace an on-line format, which wasn’t without its challenges.

The amount of preparation came as quite a surprise to us, as every element of both the joint workshop and Syamic’s presentation on the benefits of SIAM training had to be thought through in fine detail, so that it would work in the virtual world.

However, this investment in-time paid off with both the workshop and the presentation being well received and opened some very interesting opportunities for Syamic.

During the workshop, Steve Morgan from Syniad IT and our very own Ian Groves, worked with delegates from India, South Africa, Finland, Canada, USA, and the UK to explore their specific SIAM implementation challenges.

Using the SIAM roadmap, SIAM Body of Knowledge best practice, and many years of collective experience, we were able to give the delegates new insights and recommendations to help them move forward.

The conference itself was held over two days and was a combination of presentations and on-line networking breakout sessions and a very engaging Tweet Wall! We were also thrilled to give away two of our SIAM Foundation eLearning packages to two lucky winners and we are delighted to welcome them to the SIAM accredited family!

Our presentation was titled ‘SIAM Training – Who Needs It’?

We explored the value of SIAM specific training to support customer organisations, staff, and service integrators alike to prepare and adapt to the changes in working practices which come about with a migration to a SIAM operating model.
